Wabash Valley Power Alliance is a not-for-profit generation and transmission electric cooperative founded in 1963. It provides power to 23 member distribution cooperatives across Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri, serving more than 350,000 homes, schools, farms, and businesses. The organisation ranks as the 17th largest generation and transmission electric cooperative in the United States, with $1.3 billion in assets and an "A" credit rating.
The cooperative's technical work spans energy grid monitoring, power supply portfolio management, decarbonisation strategy, and edge-of-grid technology integration. Its team operates around the clock to maintain reliable, cost-effective power delivery. The cooperative model means the organisation answers to its member-owners, with a focus on collaboration and supporting economic development in the communities it serves.
Wabash Valley Power Alliance also runs the POWER MOVES programme, which awards incentives to help co-op members save energy and money. To date, the programme has distributed over $32 million in incentives.
