Seminole Electric Cooperative is a not-for-profit generation and transmission cooperative headquartered in Tampa, Florida. Founded in 1948, it generates and transmits wholesale electricity to nine member distribution electric cooperatives, serving nearly 2 million consumers across 42 of Florida's 67 counties. This makes it one of the largest generation and transmission cooperatives in the United States.
The cooperative's core mission is to deliver safe, competitively-priced, and reliable wholesale power to its member systems, which serve rural communities across the state. Its operational model is built on a high level of accountability to these member cooperatives.
