Thayer Infrastructure Services

Thayer Infrastructure Services builds and maintains electric, fiber-optic and wireless communications networks for utilities and operators across the US Midwest and Northeast.

Thayer Infrastructure Services (TIS Group) builds and maintains critical electric, fiber-optic and wireless communications networks for utilities and communications operators, providing integrated installation, repair, maintenance, replacement and engineering services. The firm traces its roots to 1964, when it was founded as Thayer Power & Communication; it has since grown from a single company into a multi-company infrastructure group serving multiple markets across the industrial Midwest and Northeastern United States.

Electric work spans high-voltage distribution, transmission, substation and underground utilities, together with emergency restoration and smart-grid installation. Telecommunications and fiber construction covers aerial and underground fiber build, splicing, horizontal directional drilling, trenching, rural broadband and joint-use work. Wireless infrastructure services include small-cell deployment, macro-tower construction, and testing and integration. In each case the group provides installation, repair, maintenance and replacement.

Engineering services extend across transmission, substation and distribution, from strategic planning and detailed design through material estimation and construction support. Customers include investor-owned utilities, electric cooperatives, telecommunications companies, internet service providers and communications tower owners.
