Envelio builds the Intelligent Grid Platform, software that turns static power grids into digital, flexible systems capable of absorbing large volumes of solar, wind, electric-vehicle charging and heat pumps. The platform helps grid operators digitise their operations, speed up interconnection processes and make better-informed investment decisions. It is in use at more than 75 utilities worldwide.

Founded in 2017, the company grew out of research at RWTH Aachen University in Aachen, Germany. It opened an office in Boston in 2024 to support American utilities and now serves customers globally. The team numbers over 175 people, engineers and energy experts among them, drawn from 23 nationalities.

Envelio's work sits at the intersection of energy grid software, grid flexibility and interconnection automation - technical domains central to the integration of distributed energy resources.
